What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.  Mindfulness is presence of mind; attentiveness; awareness.  Mindfulness is different than regular attention in that it is present, open, quiet, alert and contemplates the present moment.

Mindfulness can be cultivated through the process of Meditation.

What is Meditation?

Meditation is a process that helps us understand our lives from a more spacious and relaxed perspective and develop wisdom and compassion in our relationship with ourselves, others, and the world around us.

It involves the moment-to-moment observation, without judgment, of the mind/body process through calm and focused awareness.

"For me, mindfulness is really a love affair... a love affair with what is so, with what we might call truth, which for me includes beauty, the unknown, and the possible, how things actually are... in this very moment - for it is all already here - and at the same time, everywhere, because here can be anywhere at all."
